The Ewing Township Police Department has released the following message from Ewing Township Mayor Bert Steinmann:

In the interest of public safety, I am notifying all residents that there has been a bear sighting in Ewing Township in the Mountain View area. If you see a bear, please move to a safe location and call 911 immediately. Please do not approach the bear under any circumstances. Additionally, I would ask for all residents to please secure their trash cans and temporarily take in any bird feeders so that they do not attract the bears. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.
