Burglar Enters Brandon Farms Residence While Family is Home, Investigation is Ongoing

by Mary Galioto

Hopewell Township Police reported that, on April 18, 2016 at 6:00pm, Officer Christopher Vaccarino was dispatched to a residence on Colt Street in the Brandon Farms neighborhood of Hopewell Township on the report of a burglary.

Upon arrival, Officer Vaccarino met with the female victim and her children, who were all home at the time of the burglary.  An unknown person entered the residence through an unlocked door and stole various items. The individual also spread what appeared to be animal feces on rugs in the residence.

The stolen items were valued at approximately $60.00 and were recovered nearby in a neighbor’s back yard. The neighbor is not believed to be involved.

The victim stated she heard her front door close at 5:15 pm and assumed it was her children going out to play and her children heard the door close but thought it was the mother going outside when it was, in fact, the intruder.

The investigation continues. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Hopewell Township Police at (609) 737 3100.
