The following is a message from Hopewell Valley Regional School District:

“Dear Hopewell Valley Families, This morning we were alerted to a clown warning posted on an official-looking Timberlane Middle School Instagram account. This account is not maintained by the district and the district has not had any sightings or issued any warnings related to clowns,” wrote Superintendent Thomas A. Smith, Ed.D.

The school district is currently working with local authorities to investigate the posting and have this fake account removed. As an extra precaution, the district has asked the Township police to maintain a visible presence around the schools.

If anyone has any information regarding this fake Instagram account or this posting, please contact the Hopewell Township Police.

Furthermore, Dr. Smith advices that any other official district communication, district alerts are communicated to directly to families through email, phone and via our district website, not through social media.
