Hopewell Valley Gives Update on Referendum Progress

by Angela Jacobs

According to Hopewell Valley Regional School District Superintendent, Dr. Thomas Smith, the process of implementing school improvements, set forth in the passed referendum, is off to a smooth start. As promised, Dr. Smith gave one of many future updates at Monday night’s Board of Education meeting.

“We are progressing through our timeline. The board will be asked (tonight) to approve a bid that was submitted earlier last week regarding our roof. The good news is that the bid came in $800K under estimate. Next, we’ll be preparing bids for the HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning),” said Dr. Smith. “The roof estimate was in the neighborhood of $3M and we’re coming in at 25% under that. It’s a heck of a nice start,” said board member Roy Dollard.
