Hopewell Valley Regional School District Wins 4th ASBO Certificate of Excellence Award

by MercerMe Staff

Hopewell Valley Regional School District (HVRSD) has been awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting award from the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International. The award is given for the district having met or exceeded the standards for financial reporting and accountability. The district was recognized specifically for the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report of 2015.

Recognition by this award is a confirmation of the district’s strong commitment to financial accountability and transparency. This is the fourth year that HVRSD has participated in the Certificate of Excellence program and the district is committed to maintaining high levels of fiscal integrity, above and beyond stated requirements.

“Receiving this award for the 4th consecutive year demonstrates the commitment of our school board, led by President Lisa Wolff and our business office led by Mr. Robert Colavita, to sound fiscal management,” stated HVRSD Superintendent Tom Smith. “We feel we are doing a great job managing the resources of our community, but when it is acknowledged by an objective entity like the ASBO, it validates our efforts.”

About ASBO International: Founded in 1910, ASBO is a professional organization of 5,000 members that provides programs and services to promote the highest standards of school business management practices, professional growth, and the effective use of education resources. For more information about the COE award, visit asbointl.org/COE .
