Hopewell Valley Soccer Association U9 Boys Wildfires Kick Off Season

The newly formed HVSA U9 Boys, the “Wildfires,” opened their season last weekend in the South Brunswick Kick Off Tournament. In the incredible heat of the weekend, the boys were on fire with their passes, shots, and defense.

In their first game against FTSC Gunners, the boys went goal for goal tying in the end with a score of 2-2. The first goal of the game was made by Christian Heide, and the second goal was scored by Tyler Ansari. Delivering a strong performance in goal to keep the boys in the game were Lucien Gharagozloo and Bennett Patterson. During the second game, the Wildfires dominated the South Brunswick SC Phoenix team with a score of 6-2. All the boys worked together to move the ball around the field peppering the goalie with multiple shots. Two goals each in this game came from Mario Radzicki, Bennett Patterson and Tyler Ansari. Strong defense came from the field from players like Noah Calhoun and Stephen Bates.

Sunday started the tournament with much cooler temperatures and the Wildfires faced a tough 5-7 loss against Montgomery. Scoring for Hopewell was Ryan Tackacs and Mario Radzicki, with two goals each, and one more goal from Tyler Ansari. Phenomenal goalie keeping the Montgomery team at bay was AJ Gray, and Matthew Golian added strong defense. The last game was a tough loss against a strong Soccer for Life FC Dynamo with a score of 1-2. The Wildfire sole goal in the last game came from Bennett Patterson. Luke Cortina provided strong defense to assist the goalie in keeping their offense away.
