Hopewell Valley Youth Chorale to Showcase Local Talent

Wenonah Brooks, Steven Allen, Bryan Hill, and Scott Burnham are lined up to judge HVYC’s Mic Drop 2017 music competition fundraiser

The stage is set!  The cast is confirmed!  The following acts have been selected to compete at the Hopewell Valley Youth Chorale’s Mic Drop 2017 fundraiser on Saturday, April 29th at the Hopewell Valley Vineyard.

“We purposefully selected musical acts from a variety of genres in order to celebrate the high-quality talent that we have in our own backyard,” commented Deborah Zeller, HVYC Executive Director. “And, with Hopewell Valley Youth Chorale being a hidden gem in our community, we thought that an event like this would be a perfect way to highlight HVYC and our local artists.”

HVYC also has renown musical talent judging the event.  The judges include Wenonah Brooks, jazz and blues singer, Steven Allen, Professor of Music at Rider University, Scott Burnham, Author and Distinguished Professor of Music at the CUNY Graduate Center, as well as Scheide Professor of Music History Emeritus at Princeton, and Hopewell’s own Hopewell Valley Central High School musician, Bryan Hill.  Castle Lane, Hopewell’s own funk, blues and jazz band will be headlining the event.

Tickets are on sale at www.hvychorale.org/micdrop with limited capacity, first come, first serve.  Proceeds will benefit HVYC and are tax deductible.
