This little shop opened in October 2013 and is owned and manned by Bobbie Fishman, a Hopewell resident and former children’s books buyer for Micawber and Labyrinth in Princeton. Bobbie is virtually an expert in children’s books and offers wonderful child-specific suggestions.

The famous bear wearing an elephant costume for Halloween. So cute. He is a clever bear.

Our visit to The Bear and the Books was delightful and offered relief from the bitter cold outside. And Bobbie’s abundant welcome and amazing book recommendations warmed us up for many more hours after our visit, enjoying our new books at home.

In her free time, Mary fills her life with excessive self-reflection, photographing mushrooms, and misguided adventures in random hobbies. Mary also works as the PR Coordinator at the Hopewell Valley Arts Council, serves on the volunteer Board of Trustees of the Lawrence Hopewell Trail (LHT), serves on the Hopewell Borough Board of Health, is a member of the Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance, and holds the elected position as the Hopewell Borough Democratic Committee Municipal Chairwoman.
