Howell Farm to Offer Valentine Rides and Activities

by MercerMe Staff

The incurably romantic can warm up for Valentine’s Day on Saturday, February 10, when horse-drawn rides are offered to all from 11am to 3pm at Howell Living History Farm.

The farm’s two-seater sleigh or carriage will be used for couples, and a bobsled or wagon is reserved for families and groups. All rides are free, and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Hot chocolate and a hand-warming fire are among the outdoor amenities. Live music and house tours will be featured inside the recently restored farmhouse. Lunch fare and Valentine treats will be for sale in the Visitor Center beginning at 11am. Parking and admission are free.

A children’s craft program, “Old-Fashioned Paper Valentines,” will be held in the farmhouse sitting room from 11am to 3pm. The cost is $3 per craft.

Howell Farm is owned by Mercer County, and maintained and operated by the Mercer County Park Commission. It is located on Valley Road, just off Route. 29, in Hopewell Township. The GPS address is 70 Woodens Lane, Hopewell Township, NJ 08530.

Public visiting hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. Beginning in March, the farm will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday hours will begin April 8 from noon to 4 p.m.
