New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the weekend closure of the Exit 67 ramp from I-95 northbound/I-295 southbound to Route 1
in both directions, to advance construction and prepare for the reopening of the Route 1 southbound ramp on Monday morning in Lawrence Township.
Beginning at 10 p.m. tonight, Friday, April 7 until 5 a.m. Monday, April 10, NJDOT’s contractor, South State, Inc., is scheduled to close the Exit 67 ramp from I-95 northbound/I-295 southbound to Route 1 northbound and southbound for continued bridge deck replacement. The ramp to both Route 1 northbound and southbound will reopen Monday morning as construction advances to a new stage.
During this new phase of construction, both ramps to Route 1 northbound and southbound will be open, with crews working behind construction barrier on guide rail, parapets, and other items. There will be additional full weekend closures this spring for final paving and removing construction barrier.
During this weekend’s closure from 10 p.m. tonight, Friday, April 7 until 5 a.m. Monday, April 10, motorists on I-95 northbound/I-295 southbound attempting to use Exit 67 will be detoured to Exit 65A then directed onto I-295 northbound where they will use Exit 67B to access Route 1 northbound or southbound.
Variable message signs and lane closure signs are being utilized throughout the project limits to provide advance notification to motorists of all traffic pattern changes associated with the deck replacement project. Throughout the project, NJDOT will provide information before upcoming road closures.
The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for real-time travel information and for NJDOT news follow them on Twitter @NJDOT_info.
