Fire Hydrant Inspections and Flushing
Please be aware that Trenton Water Works will be performing fire hydrant inspections and flushing during the months of July and August in Lawrence Township. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Trenton Water Works at 609-989-3222.
Registration Continues for Lawrence Township Summer Camps
Spots are still available for the Park Camps, Travel Camps (first session only), Sport Camps, Art and Theater Camps, Tennis Camps. Registrations can be done on-line, by phone or in person by visiting the Recreation Office.

Tick Bite Prevention
Residents are reminded at this time of year when more time is spent enjoying being outdoors, to take precautions to prevent tick bites. Tickborne diseases, which are spread by tick bites, include Lyme Disease, Ehrlichinosis and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.
Here are a few actions you should take to help prevent tick bites:
> When going outside, protect yourself and your children with bug repellent. Always follow the label directions carefully for safe use of bug repellents.
> Wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants. Tuck your pants into your socks to keep ticks away from your skin.
> Avoid walking in high grass and along brush and bushes where ticks live. Avoid sitting directly in the grass and on the ground. When returning from outdoor activities, always check yourself and your children for ticks. A thorough tick check is important to locate ticks before they attach to your body and bite.
Mosquito Control – Safeguarding County Residents
With a warm spring arriving on the heels of a mild winter this year, residents are being cautioned that mosquito season is expected to start earlier than usual. Mercer County conducts a highly sophisticated mosquito control program to safeguard the health of county residents. Road Work
The bridge over the Shipetaukin Creek on Carter Road is still under construction and is being replaced. During this construction project Carter Road will be closed to all traffic. Please go to the website for additional details: www.lawrencetwp.com
Roadwork and lane closures continue on Route #1 between the Brunswick Circle and Lake Drive. Please use caution this area.

Yard Waste Collection
The week of July 11 is Zone 2 for yard waste pickup. Please be considerate and place your items on the curb ONLY if you are in Zone 2.
Material shall be placed in an area on the street not greater than four feet (4′) from the edge of the pavement. Trees greater than 8-inches caliper may not be disposed of through curbside collection. Materials shall not be piled greater than three feet (3′) in height. Once the collection truck has collected your street, they will not return until next month’s collection.

Lawrence Township Eco-Waste Collection Program
Lawrence Township continues to offer an optional recycling program that allows residents the opportunity to compost their organic waste. Removing organic materials from the waste stream will reduce the amount of trash that is taken to the landfill. According to the EPA, food scraps and yard waste make up 20 to 30 percent of the waste stream.
The Cost is $12.00 per month which will rise to $17.00 per month once grant funding is exhausted. This price includes a 32-gallon recycle cart.
