Just when you thought that nothing great is free, along comes LOVE{PRESS}, a free family crafting event that marries letterpress machines, warm cafe setting, tic-tac-toe, and a photobooth.

The event, at Chambers Walk Cafe in Lawrenceville, has been organized by 3 Mercer County based businesses all headed up by amazingly creative women hell-bent on following their passions.

  • Lauren Reed from Darling +Pearl Letterpress, a stationery and event branding company specializing in all types of cool printing methods from letterpress on a century-old iron printing press to silkscreened wooden signs and textiles. All their products are designed and created in-house in Ewing.
  • Lisa Shifflett of Lisa Shifflett Photography, a natural light inspired, editorial and lifestyle portrait photographer in Lawrenceville whose photography is fun, whimsical, with a dash of spunk.
  • kPGMmJ85j0NMjsKXTRzINec5XocQrETS4Mzb8yO4rd8_fjm4r9WzFFO8erccVc8bzZfreWnyfufbrQSUWIGazc-780x519Michele Musci of Sage Field Events, an event planning company in Lawrenceville offering full and partial social and corporate event planning services with an eye to creating a very special environment, setting, and style with quality service, excellent fare, and unique details.

All these women met through pure coincidence. Michele and Lisa met shopping at a department store where Michele was searching for an outfit to wear for a photo shoot — with Lisa! Later that week! Lauren and Michele met through a non-mutual Facebook friend. Lauren adorably jokes that this is “a modern love story.” And that non-mutual friend was coincidentally a friend of Lisa’s.

But their passion for creativity is what drew them together to plan this sweet letterpress event with an adorable play on tic-tac-toe X’s and O’s and Valentine’s kisses and hugs.

Mary AND Merritt from MercerMe will be there with little ones in tow on FEBRUARY 8TH. Details are below. Pre-registration is encouraged and can be done so through the event website.

Hope to see you there!
