Mercer County and Mercer County Clerk’s Office are conducting drives for the holiday season. Executive Brian M. Hughes invites County residents, businesses and civic groups to join Mercer County employees in their annual Holiday Toy Drive. And Paula Sollami Covello, the Mercer County Clerk, is holding the annual Holiday Charity Drive.

“Too many children go without, especially during the holiday season. As we begin our annual Holiday Toy Drive, I urge you to give whatever you can toward this year’s effort,” Hughes said. “Even the smallest or simplest item can bring a smile to a child’s face.”

The Mercer County Administration and the Mercer County Park Commission together hope to deliver plenty of joy to this year’s recipient, Toys for Tots. This worthwhile organization joins the many other groups over the years that have benefited from the generosity of Mercer County employees and residents. For information, call (609) 303-0700.

Unwrapped toys and gifts may be dropped at the following locations from now until December 12th:

  • Mercer County McDade Administration Building, 640 South Broad St., Trenton
  • Mercer County Park Commission, 197 Blackwell Road, Hopewell Township
  • Mercer County Park Ice Skating Center
  • Mercer County Park Tennis Center
  • Mercer County Park Ranger Headquarters
  • Mercer County Equestrian Center
  • Mercer County Wildlife Center
  • Howell Living History Farm
  • Mercer County Connection, Route 33 at Paxson Avenue, Hamilton

The Mercer County Clerk’s Office’s “Holiday Charity Drive” benefits the Trenton and Ewing Animal Shelters. Warm blankets and food and pet supplies are welcome for those that are sometimes forgotten during the holiday season.

The County Clerk’s Office is also supporting The Children’s Home Society by hosting a toy collection and clothing collection. Please bring unwrapped gifts of clothing or toys with a label of the age, size or gender of the intended recipient. The Children’s Home Society will distribute the gifts to needy children, teenagers and adults.

The collection for the drives is at the County Clerk’s Office at the Courthouse Annex, 209 S Broad Street in Trenton.
