Join the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association in celebrating “River Days,” an initiative of the William Penn Foundation to connect people with nature and learn about the Watershed in which they live. On Saturday, October 8th from 9:00am to 1:30pm, adults and families will enjoy a 15-mile bike ride on groomed trails along the Lawrence Hopewell Trail (“LHT”), part of the greater Philadelphia Circuit Trail System. Children must be 12 years or older. The event is free to the public and includes a picnic lunch.

The bike ride will start at the Watershed Center for Environmental Advocacy, Science and Education with a brief discussion of the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed, and its relationship to the Delaware River Watershed. Participants will learn about the Watershed’s River-Friendly Program and how they can make a difference through their actions in helping to keep water clean, safe and healthy.  The guided ride will conclude again at the Watershed Center where visitors will have the opportunity to view the exhibits and displays, enjoy a picnic lunch, and learn about the migration of the Monarch Butterfly through the Tag-and-Release Program in the Kate Gorrie Butterfly House.

Pre-registration is required and the event will be capped at 100 people so register early.  To register for the bike ride, contact the Watershed Center at 609-737-7592 or email bnc@thewatershed.org.
