If you’ve been looking for a way to help the victims of the March 4 gas explosion in Ewing, head over to the auditorium at Fisher Middle School for a benefit concert this Saturday, March 22.

Kicking off with local children’s favorites Kids MusicRound and Grammy-award winner Miss Amy, the daylong event also features Southern Shaolin Academy, a speech by Ewing Mayor Bert Steinmann and a performance by Rich Scannella, a drummer for Jon Bon Jovi.

“This benefit event is a wonderful example of our community coming together to help those in need,” said Mayor Steinmann in a statement. “Our Township and our citizens have stepped up to assist their neighbors through donations and support and THIS is what defines us.”

Donations of $5 per person at the door are suggested, with contributions going to the disaster relief fund for residents affected by the blast.

Fisher Middle School is located at 1325 Lower Ferry Road in Ewing, and the event takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Individuals who would like to donate, but are unable to attend the benefit are encouraged by organizers to mail their donation by check, made out to Township of Ewing with the words “Disaster Relief Fund” in the memo line, to Ewing Community Center, 999 Lower Ferry Road, Ewing, NJ 08628.

More information about the Disaster Relief Fund can be found on the Ewing Township website at
