by Mary Galioto

At 3:13pm, the Hopewell Township Police along with the Pennington Fire Company, Pennington First Aid Squad, and the Hopewell Valley Emergency Services were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on Flower Hill Lane just off of Bull Run Road. Officers arrived and found that a 2015 Volvo S80 had collided with a tree.

The Volvo was driven by Michael Goodman (69 years of age), of Allura Court, Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Mr. Goodman was removed from the vehicle and transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center by the Pennington First Aid Squad with Paramedics from Capital Health System. The passenger in the Volvo Barbara Goodman (73 years of age), of Allura Court, Lawrenceville, New Jersey sustained minor injuries during the crash and was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center by the Hopewell Valley Emergency Services.

Investigation into the low speed crash revealed that Mr. Goodman was traveling north on Flower Hill Lane. For an unknown reason (possibly medical related) the Volvo left the roadway, struck a street sign, a fence and then a tree before coming to rest.

The crash is being investigated by Officer Joseph Maccaquano and Detective Mike Sherman.

The crash remains under investigation.
