This week was a regular fitness week except that my little family and I are taking a 4-day weekend so there were only 3 workout days this week. I’ve been doing a steady routine of high intensity cardio classes lately as a break from my weight lifting routine. I’m lulled into the allure of a huge calorie burn rather than the muscle benefits of lifting. But I’ll get back again. I will. (And spoiler: I pre-purchased my bikini for next summer because Athleta is having a sale. Eeeek!) (Also, I should lean my bicep IN toward the camera if I want it to look impressively large.)
The highlight this week was “Shred It! Cardio.” Holy cardio hell. Actually, if this was hell, then sign my booty up. There were a trillion jumping jacks, skaters, pushups, plank maneuvers just to name a few. I had sweat IN MY EYES. When we cooled down to do abs at the end of the class, my glasses fogged up. In the locker room, as I peeled the sweaty clothes off myself (TMI?), my legs and arms were shaking. Yes. And my Polar FT4, read over a 500 calorie burn for the hour. Boom.
