by Mary Galioto

The Hopewell Township Police Department, along with the Pennington Fire Company and the Hopewell Valley Emergency Services responded to a suspicious occurrence at the Bank of America complex off of Scotch Road.

As an employee was processing mail, a suspicious substance was observed falling from an envelope. A portion of the building involved was evacuated while emergency personnel awaited the arrival of the Trenton Fire Department Hazardous Materials Team.

The suspicious substance was analyzed and determined to be ground paper particles. All employees were allowed to reoccupy the building after approximately one hour.
