The New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) recognized 21 teachers — one per county — as the 2018-19 County Teachers of the Year in an awards ceremony this summer. The Teacher of the Year for Mercer County is Nicholas Johnson, a science teacher at Hopewell Valley Central High School.

The Hopewell Valley Board of Education, at its August 20 meeting, made preparations for the 2018-2019 school year including the hiring of staff to start in September, setting goals for the new school year, and updating the public on renovations and construction projects in each of the District’s schools.

Explorations is an all volunteer organization offering daytime learning experiences in the fall and the spring for seniors from the Hopewell Valley and nearby communities. Now in its tenth year, Explorations needs to grow to meet demand, and that means we need more teachers.
