Local news website MercerMe and the Hopewell Valley Arts Council are hosting the 2nd Annual “Winter Windows,” a holiday shop-local window decorating contest.
“Winter Windows” is a coordinated creative effort designed to help attract more attention to our local businesses during a time when many people are gravitating toward Route 1, malls and online purchasing. It is also a chance to explore your inner artist and show some holiday spirit.
Last year, locals spied creatively displayed oxen in the windows, celebrating the Arts Council Stampede. This year, participating business will have the chance to artistically decorate shop windows in the theme of Shimmering, Glistening, Sparkling! (For inspiration, take a look at the Hopewell Valley Arts Council’s pinterest inspiration page at https://www.pinterest.com/hopewellvalleya/winter-windows/.)
Participating businesses will be featured in news articles and have an online presence on MercerMe’s website and on MercerMe and Arts Council social media. Members of the public will receive regular encouragement from MercerMe and the Arts Council to vote for their favorite entries and support our local businesses.
As an incentive, MercerMe will host and promote a “People’s Choice Award” contest and award prizes to the top 3 businesses in the form of free advertising slots on MercerMe in the values of $500, $300 and $200.
To participate or for more information, sign up below or contact Mary Galioto at firstname.lastname@example.org or 609-309-9136. Many Valley businesses have already signed up. Please RSVP by November 15, so that we have enough window clings and other materials ready for the event. While there is no cost for participating businesses, charitable contributions to the Hopewell Valley Arts Council are always welcome.
