[AUDIO] MercerMe Founder Discusses Subscription Model, Community News

by MercerMe Staff

Mary Galioto, founder, publisher, and editor of MercerMe, was interviewed last month on the News Commons Radio Hour, an hour-long weekly radio program on WMSC 90.3 FM in Upper Montclair.

Galioto spoke with host Joe Amditis of Montclair State University’s Center for Cooperative Media about moving MercerMe to a community-supported subscription news model, as well as some of the challenges of providing and funding community-centered news in 2018.

The News Commons Radio Hour features guest appearances and interviews with members of the media and other voices in journalism, including members of the NJ News Commons, the Center’s flagship partner network. MercerMe received a Grow and Strengthen Grant from the Center for Cooperative Media in 2014.
