As college students prepare for the start of a new academic year, the Mercer County Clerk, Paula Sollami Covello reminds students not to delay requesting a Vote-by-Mail ballot for the upcoming Presidential Election.
College students are urged to apply now to Vote-by-Mail if they plan on not returning home to vote in November. The 2016 Presidential Election is predicted by many to create a record surge in Vote-by-Mail applications at the Mercer County Clerk’s office.
“Do not wait until October to get your Vote-by Mail ballot application processed if you are going away to college. Do it now, before you leave for school and avoid any unnecessary delays,” said Clerk Sollami Covello.
Voters interested in obtaining a Vote-by-Mail application in person, may visit the Mercer County Clerk’s Elections Office, located on the 7th floor at 240 West State Street in Trenton. x
Hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Prospective voters may also visit the Mercer County Connection located in the Hamilton Square/Acme Shopping Center on Highway 33 & Paxson Avenue in Hamilton Township to pick up a Vote-by-Mail application. The County Connection satellite office offers evening and Saturday hours for the convenience of Mercer County residents.
Voters may also find Vote-by-Mail applications at www.MercerCounty.org and are available in both English and Spanish. To have a Vote-by-Mail application mailed to you, the telephone number to call is 609-989-6495.
Voter registration forms can be found at http://www.njelections.org/voting-information.html and are available in English, Española, Korean, Gujarati, simplified Chinese, and traditional Chinese.
