Diversity of NJ to be Showcased in Photography Exhibit at RWJ Hamilton’s Lakefront Gallery

by Mary Galioto

New Jersey is home to a rich tapestry of cultures, religions and history and glimpses of this depth has been captured in a new exhibit at RWJ Hamilton’s Lakefront Gallery.

“Celebrating Diversity,” an exhibit by the Princeton Photography Club, opens January 21 at RWJ Hamilton with an opening reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.

The exhibit is a photographic documentation of the cultural, religious and geographic diversity of the state featuring 78 photographs from 23 area photographers, themselves a reflection of the diversity they aim to capture. Subjects include historical locations such as the estate of the founder of Trenton, activities at several central New Jersey houses of worship, and the daily activities of area youths.

The exhibit will be on display through April 7.

RWJ Hamilton opened the Lakefront Gallery in 2013 in collaboration with the Princeton Photography Club. The Lakefront Gallery brings original photographic art to the walls of the hospital, enriching the patient and visitor experience and providing additional creative exposure for local artists.

The Lakefront gallery space is ADA-accessible and is located on the first floor of the hospital along the mezzanine above the Roma Bank Café. To submit your photographic art for consideration, contact Sheila Geisler, curator, at 732.422.3676 or [email protected].
