Driver in Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Hopewell Twp Arrested and Charged

At 6:36pm on May 31, 2016, the Hopewell Township Police Department along with the Pennington Fire Company and Pennington Rescue Squad were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on County Route 546 at Scotch Rd. Officers arrived on scene and found that a Toyota Tundra and a Kawasaki motorcycle had collided.

The Kawasaki was driven by Orest L. Huraleczko, a 60 year old male from Titus Avenue in Lawrence Township NJ. Mr. Huraleczko was killed in the impact and pronounced dead at the scene.

The Toyota was being driven Rufino Estuardo, a 24 year old male from Ohio Avenue, Ewing NJ. He did not stop at the scene and was located by responding Officers approximately a mile away in a commercial building parking lot with his vehicle. He was not injured and was interviewed at police headquarters.

Estuary, the driver of the Toyota Tundra, Rufino Estuardo a Guatemalan national, was arrested and charged with: Death by Auto, Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Accident, Driving While Intoxicated, Failing to Observe a Traffic Signal [red light], Reckless Driving and Being an Unlicensed Driver.

He was placed under arrest at Hopewell Township Police Headquarters.  After being processed he was lodged at the Mercer County Correctional Center in default of $200,000.00 Full Cash Bail.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement was also notified of his arrest.
