Ewing Arts Commission Partners with Mercer Arc & Central Jersey Performing Arts Academy On Featured Art Exhibition in May
May 5, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
free
The Ewing Arts Commission and Art Has No Boundaries (AHNB) are pleased to partner with both The Arc Mercer and Central Jersey Performing Arts Academy to present May’s Art exhibition at the Ewing Township Municipal Building as part of the Featured Artist Program.
The show will be headlined by a reception on May 5 from 6 to 8 pm which will include live dramatic performances by individuals from CJPAA and interviews with several featured artists from Arc Mercer & CJPAA. Attendees will also have a chance to meet the artists, perform themselves via karaoke, and purchase artwork in support of the Mercer Arc programs. Portions of the May 5 program will also be streamed live on the Ewing Arts Commission’s YouTube channel.
“We are so excited to bring this remarkable group together and look forward to some amazing performances and artwork.” said Melissa Bennet of AHNB.
The show was curated to highlight the artistry and creativity of local artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) whose artistry may not have been recognized publicly. The Arc Mercer and CJPAA constantly seek meaningful partnerships for community support and integration for the individuals that each serves.
“Ewing is committed to providing a space for emerging, established and unrecognized artists in our community, it is why we incorporated this space into our Township municipal building – to provide an opportunity to showcase some of the remarkable creativity in our town.” Stated Mayor Bert Steinmann.
The event is part of Ewing’s ongoing Featured Artist Program which showcases the two and three dimensional art of local residents. May’s exhibit marks the third time that EAC, AHNB and Arc Mercer have partnered, with a welcome addition in CJPAA.
“The EAC is excited to once again partner with The Arc Mercer and Art Has No Boundaries. Having the additional partnership with the CJPAA for this event helps us fulfill our mission of having artists collectively share their exceptional talents with the Ewing community” EAC Chair Mel Antler stated.
