On Wednesday, April 25, join D&R Greenway Land Trust and renowned local poets for a day of paths, poetry and picnics.  The event takes place from 10:30 a.m. until noon, at the vintage barn at St. Michaels Farm Preserve in Hopewell.  This unique series of readings is presented in conjunction with the Princeton Migrations Project, a community-wide investigation of the theme of migration, honoring diversity, which program is spearheaded by Princeton University Art Museum.  At the land trust’s St. Michaels Farm Preserve, Gael Gardner, Rosemary Wright, and Jeff Hoagland will read nature poems. Please RSVP at 609-924-4646 or rsvp@drgreenway.org, By all means, register for all three. Directions will be conveyed just before April 25.

The series will also take place at Cedar Ridge Preserve on Wednesday, May 23 and at the Sourlands Ecosystem Preserve on June 13, both from 10:30 until noon.  The Cedar Ridge poets, selected by D&R Greenway’s CEO/President Linda Mead, are Lois Marie Harrod, Maxine Susman and Carolyn Edelmann.  The Sourlands poets are Linda Arntzenius, Winnie Hughes, and Jane McKinley.

Guests bring a picnic lunch, blanket and/or beach chair, water and a hat.  For all New Jersey hikes, remember sun block, insect repellant, long pants tucked into long socks in closed shoes, and long-sleeved shirt.  Picnic items will be left at the old barn during the guided stroll upon the preserve.  The poetry will accompany lunch.
