Join the Mercer County Library on Wednesday, September 27, 7pm for a discussion with James R. Hagerty, the author of Yours Truly: An Obituary Writer’s Guide to Telling Your Story, as he talks about his experience writing people’s stories and explains why and how you should preserve your own story, even if you’re not famous. James R. Hagerty wrote more than 900 obituaries for the Wall Street Journal between 2016 and 2023 and now contributes obituaries on a freelance basis to other national newspapers. During his 45-year newspaper career, he has worked as an editor, reporter and bureau chief for the WSJ and the International Herald Tribune in London, Hong Kong, Brussels, Paris, New York, Atlanta and Pittsburgh.
