The Hopewell Township Police Department reported that they, along with the Pennington Fire Company, responded to a report of a laundry room fire at a Blake Drive address in Hopewell Grant on February 3, 2019.
Within minutes, Hopewell Township Police Officer Mark Panzano arrived and observed the fire in the laundry room located on the second floor of the residence. Officer Panzano deployed a Stat-X fire suppression device prior to the arrival of the fire department.
Fire personnel, under the command of Pennington Fire Company Chief Nick Gaudioso arrived on location and extinguished the fire.
Responding agencies assisting the Pennington Fire Company were the Hopewell Fire Department, the Union Fire Company, Lawrenceville Fire Company, Prospect Heights Fire Department, and Pennington First Aid Squad.
The home suffered fire, smoke and water damage, and was not habitable. A second attached residence suffered minor smoke damage.
The source of the fire is under investigation by Officer Panzano and Detective Mirra of the Hopewell Township Police Department and Lt. Schulman of the Hopewell Valley Emergency Services.
The fire is not believed to be suspicious and possibly due to an appliance.
