FoHVOS Celebrates National Trails Day with Two Weekend Events

by MercerMe Staff

In honor of National Trails Day, Friend of Hopewell Valley Open Space FoHVOS is partnering with the Washington Crossing Audubon Society and RomYoga to offer two programs during the weekend of June 2-3, 2018.

On Saturday June 2, join a free (registration required) Beginner Birder Workshop at Strawberry Hill Mansion on Baldpate Mountain from 8:30 am– 11:30am. If you’ve ever heard birds chirping out in the woods and thought it would be cool if you knew more, this event is for you. FoHVOS is partnering with Washington Crossing Audubon Society to help you learn the secrets of birding.

Coffee and bagels will be served as FoHVOS Land Steward and birding expert, Tyler Christensen, instructs beginner birders about gear, optics, field guides, and how to recognize common bird species. Then head outside to explore Baldpate Mountain to apply everything you’ve learned as Tyler guides you on a birding hike. Open to all and WCAS is supplying binoculars for everyone!  https://tinyurl.com/June-birding

On Sunday June 3, FoHOVS is offering Force of Nature Hike & Yoga in The Meadow from 1pm – 3pm at Thompson Preserve(beside Glenmore Barn in Hopewell, NJ). The cost for that activities is $5 for adults and children free (registration required).

As part of a series of “Women’s Force of Nature Hikes” for women and girls, this event is hosted by RomYoga. Slow down and become immersed in the natural environment. This 1.6 loop yoga hike takes you along organic farm fields, forest, and restored wildflower meadows. Tune into the smells, textures, and sights of the forest. This event is rain or shine.
