Green Hour Radio Show Tackles PennEast Issues

by Mary Galioto

On Monday February 16th, “Green Hour” online radio show will be discussing the proposed PennEast pipeline project, beginning by answering the questions: What is the PennEast Pipeline? What are the suggested benefits and the alleged risks?

With the help of Patty Cronheim of Hopewell Township Citizens Against the PennEast Pipeline (HTCAPPP) and Karen Feridun of Berks Gas Truth, host Gery Juleff, will conduct a balanced and informative discussion on issues surrounding PennEast and hopes to reach not just the traditional “green” community but all those who might be affected by the PennEast pipeline or ones like it.

“Green Hour” launched this January and welcomed Rep. Rush Holt and Caroline Katmann, Executive Director of the Sourlands Conservancy, as its first guests. The second show hosted guests from different faith communities to discuss the spiritual or ethical imperative for creating a sustainable community. And the third show, featured best-selling local author of The End of Country: Dispatches from the Frack Zone and contributor to the New York Times, Huffington Post and other publications, Seamus McGraw.

“The Green Radio explores the issues that matter to the wider Delaware Valley region and to inform, educate, inspire and provoke on issues both local and global concerning the environment and sustainability, including energy, the economy and business, technology, food and farming, health and education,” said Juleff. “The show will act as a resource for the community and will partner relevant organizations and environmental bloggers in a variety of ways – including providing experts for the discussions and carrying the show on their websites or other social media.”

If you are concerned about the pipeline or interested in learning more, listen in Monday at 6pm on www.panjradio.com. It will be repeated at 3 and 6pm every day that week and will then be available as a podcast on www.greenhourradio.com.
