Hopewell Boro Announces October Cruise Night and Business Email List

by Community Contributor

Mark your calendars for classic cars, great food, art venues, shopping and a night of family fun in walkable downtown Hopewell Borough. Cruise Night returns to Hopewell’s Broad Street on the “First Friday” October 7, from 5:00 to 8:00.

At Cruise Night, area vintage car enthusiasts line East and West Broad Street with hot rods, exotics and restored cars, Hopewell shops keep their doors open later and restaurants turn to the streets to offer a taste of what’s cooking. There will be live music, games and a festive opportunity to “crawl” all the way from one end of the street to the other. While generally a ‘rain or shine’ event, in the case of inclement or severe weather, the official Boro website at www.HopewellBoro-NJ.us will have updated information from the event organizers.

Cruise Night is the highlight of the Economic Development Committee’s initiative to showcase the great dining, shopping and arts opportunities happening in the Borough by coordinating special shopping hours, events and promotions in town on the “First Friday” of every month. Participating businesses proudly display window clings to let people know they will stay open late every First Friday. Shoppers and diners are welcome to stroll the streets of Hopewell, be tempted to wonder into the local businesses and shop, visit local art galleries, and then stay to dine in one of our wonderful local restaurants.

The Economic Development Committee also announced the creation of a business email list, to allow the Borough to transmit occasional messages to business representatives about events like Cruise Night and other business related initiatives in town. Interested businesses and residents can sign up so that the EDC can keep the business community informed about events and programs like Cruise Night, First Fridays and the committee’s other initiatives. Use of the completely voluntary ‘opt-in’ email list will be limited to Borough approved matters, events and communications in accordance with the Hopewell Borough website and media policy. The Committee does not expect to send more than several messages per month, and you will have the ability to ‘opt-out’ at any time.

Area businesses and residents that are interested in receiving this information from the EDC should sign up online by going to: http://eepurl.com/bRNQUT or emailing your business and contact name to [email protected].

Made of volunteer business, community and government representatives, the Borough’s Economic Development Committee develops events and programs to help enhance and promote dining, shopping and doing business in historic Hopewell Borough, including the area’s popular Cruise Night and First Friday partnerships between area businesses and residents. Committee meetings are scheduled for the third Monday of each month at 8:30am in Borough hall.
