Hopewell Borough Kicking Off 125th Anniversary on New Year’s Day

by Mary Galioto

The Borough of Hopewell will be celebrating its 125th Anniversary in 2016 and the year promises to be full of special programs and events to commemorate the Borough’s heritage while celebrating the Hopewell of today.

The first celebration of the year will be the “Anniversary Kick-off Party,” along with the swearing in of this year’s Borough Council, on January 1st at 11am at Borough Hall on East Broad Street. Light refreshments will be catered by Brothers Moon and music. Anniversary flags will be for sale, as well as 125th anniversary snow globes. A new walking map of Hopewell will be unveiled that features local businesses and historical sights artfully illustrated by Borough resident artist Emily Muschinske. And the Borough has put together a 125th Anniversary Commemorative Booklet that includes the programs and events for the ongoing year’s anniversary celebration.
