Hopewell Borough Yard Sale and bulk trash pick-up rescheduled

by Community Contributor

With New Jersey still in the “Orange – High Transmission Zone” at this time and the need for residents to plan for any upcoming town wide yard sale, Hopewell Borough has decided to reschedule the Borough-wide Yard Sale for the fall.

The Borough stated on its website that health professionals agree, for the protection of all residents and visitors, “welcoming hundreds of visitors into town at this point in the pandemic is risky and unwise,” and acknowledged that, while conditions could improve by June, advanced planning is necessary for this event.

Therefore, the date of the 2021 Town Wide Yard Sale will be the weekend of September 18-19.

Further details were provided on the Borough website:

During that weekend, individual permits are not required to conduct private yard sales. The annual bulk trash collection event will be scheduled for the regular collection date following the sale (Tuesday, 9/21). There will not be a June bulk trash collection this year, only the one in September.

Residents are welcome to conduct private yard sales at any time. The fees remain waived during the COVID-19 State of Emergency but permits are required (except during yard sale weekend).  A maximum number of 20 permits will be issued for any date and issued on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please click below for a yard sale permit application.  Completed applications may be emailed to: [email protected].  A signed permit will be returned for display at your sale.
