Hopewell Harvest Fair Awards Eleven Grants to Local Nonprofits

by MercerMe Staff

On February 22, 2018, the Hopewell Harvest Fair Board of Trustees distributed grants to eleven local nonprofits organizations at its Annual Grant Ceremony. Since its inception in 1987, the Hopewell Harvest Fair has dispersed more than $200,000, in grant funding to nonprofit groups working in the Hopewell Valley.

According to Hopewell Harvest Fair Board of Trustees president Julie Sansone, “The Hopewell Harvest Fair is all about community. On the day of the Fair, we bring thousands of residents together for a day of family fun, and the Fair is also a fundraiser, with proceeds from the event being invested back into the community through our Grants. We are so thankful to all Fair patrons and our generous sponsors for helping us fulfill the Fair’s mission of community-building.”

This year’s grant recipients include organizations that work on a variety of issues including youth, the arts, children with special needs, and more. Grants were distributed to: Central NJ Let Me Run, Costume Hangers, HomeFront, Hopewell Elementary School PTO (Science Fair), Hopewell Public Library, Hopewell Valley Central High School, Hopewell Valley Chorus, The OSIP Foundation, Inc., Unicorn Therapeutic Horseback Riding, VOICES, and We Care Special Sports.

The 32nd Annual 2018 Hopewell Harvest Fair will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018, and the Planning Committee is forming now. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Heidi Wilenius, 201 Chairperson, at (609) 439-3574. Many opportunities are available!

The Hopewell Harvest Fair brings together residents of the Hopewell Valley each year. It is also a fundraiser for a community grant program that provides support for nonprofit organizations doing important work in the Hopewell Valley. A percentage of all proceeds from the Fair go directly to the program. Since its inception, 30 years ago, over $200,000 has been distributed to deserving local groups.
