Heart Healthy Senior Health Fair: Thursday, February 1, 11:00am to 1:00pm at Hopewell Township Municipal Building, Auditorium and Court Room, 201 Washington Crossing Pennington Road, Titusville. Featuring information about: American Heart Association, Medication Safety, Diabetes, Sleep, Cholesterol, Blood Pressure Screenings, Exercise, Heart Healthy Diets, Stress Management, Hands Only CPR Demonstration and much more. In case of poor weather, the event will be held on February 2, 2018.

Vision Screening: Tuesday, February 13, 10:00-12:00pm at Hopewell Township Municipal Building, 201 Washington Crossing Pennington Road, Titusville. Screenings will be held downstairs in the Health Clinic area. Appointments are required to attend.  Appointments are made in 5 minute increments. Please call Liz to register, 609-537-0257.

What’s NEW in the World of Dentistry for the Senior Patient: Wednesday, February 21, 10:00am at HV Senior Center, 395 Reading Street, and Pennington.  Dr. Paul Goodman, a dentist in Pennington, NJ (www.penningtondentalcenter.com) is excited to present exciting advances in the world of dentistry for the senior patient.  There are many ways for patients to maintain their teeth as well as replacing missing ones.  For those senior patients with dentures, we will review solutions to improve comfort and chewing ability.

Fire Safety for Older Adults: Wednesday, February 28, 10:00am at HV Senior Center, 395 Reading Street, and Pennington. Throughout the past few years the number of older adults dying in fires has been on the rise.  Join us as the Mercer County Committee of Fire Safety for Older Adults presents important information about hazards in your home and ways you can prevent an emergency. Things are changing every day; make sure you are up to speed on the new rules and regulations. This committee is the first of its kind in the state of New Jersey and one in which Randi is a member of and feels passionate about.

Senior Luncheon: Wednesday, February 28th, 12:15pm at Hopewell Valley Central High School Performing Arts Center, 259 Pennington Titusville Road, Pennington.  Join us for lunch and a show by the high school students.  Registration is REQUIRED, space is LIMITED! The 2018 CHS Winter Musical is The Drowsy Chaperone.  With the house lights down, a man in a chair appears on stage and puts on his favorite record: the cast recording of a fictitious 1928 musical. The recording comes to life and The Drowsy Chaperone begins as the man in the chair looks on. Mix in two lovers on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-so-bright hostess, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan and an intoxicated chaperone, and you have the ingredients for an evening of madcap delight.

Blood Pressure/Blood Glucose Screenings:

Tuesday, February 6, 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Blood Pressure/Blood Glucose screening (fasting or 2 hour post for accurate result). Senior Center, 395 Reading Street, Pennington. Bring your own machine and we can make sure it is working properly.

Tuesday, February 20, 10:00 a.m. – 12 noon, Blood Pressure Blood Glucose screening (fasting or 2 hour post for accurate result). Lower Level, Hopewell Township Municipal Building. Bring your own blood pressure machine and we can make sure it is working properly.

Mondays and Wednesdays at 11:00 a.m., Healthy Bones: Ongoing classes to build bone strength and prevent osteoporosis. Court Room, Hopewell Township Municipal Building. Space is limited. Call 537-0236 to sign up and confirm enrollment in the class.
