Hopewell Township Police Blotter: Week of August 8, 2016

The following is the weekly police blotter from the Hopewell Township Police Department:

ShopliftingOn 7-22-16 at 10:10 am, Officer Christopher Vaccarino was dispatched to the Shop Rite on the Pennington Circle on the report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival, he arrested Samuel A. Breece of Trenton for stealing $140.00 worth of meat that he had shoved into his pants. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released after being charged with shoplifting.

Burglary and TheftOn 7-29-16 at 7:00 am, Officer George Peterson was dispatched to houses on Burroughs Avenue and Lafayette Street in Titusville on the report of cars that were entered sometime overnight and property was stolen. The victims advised a combined total of $247.00 worth of money and power tools were stolen from their unlocked vehicles sometime overnight. The investigation is ongoing.

Possession of Marijuana and Drug ParaphernaliaOn 7-30-16 at 10:30 pm, Officer Michael Toth stopped a 1995 Chevy for a motor vehicle violation [careless driving]. While speaking with the driver, who was identified as Caitlin M. Goldenbaum of Bordentown, NJ, she was found in possession of marijuana, a pipe and a grinder. She was also found to have an outstanding warrant from Chesterfield Township Municipal Court. She was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where she was processed and released. Her case will be heard in municipal court.

Contempt of CourtOn 8-2-16 at 7:49 pm, Officer George Peterson was detailed to Route 546 near Independence Way on the report of solicitors in the area. Upon arrival, he located a male identified as Nathan McClain soliciting for an out of state business. He was also found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Oakland Boro, New Jersey.  He was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where he posted bail and was released. His case will be heard in municipal court.

DWI, Possession of CDS (Amphetamine/Marijuana/ Prescription Pills)and Drug Paraphernalia: On 7-24-16 at 2:55, Officer George Peterson stopped a 2015 Honda on Rt 29 near Church Rd for speeding [75/45].  While speaking with the driver, who was identified as Brian Ridolfi of Hamilton, NJ, the Officer felt he was under the influence of narcotics. After roadside sobriety testing, he was placed under arrest. A search of the vehicle also led to the arrest of a passenger identified as Ronald J. Moreen of Hamilton.

The charges were as follows: Rudolf: Possession of Prescription Legend Drugs [pills], Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure to Make Lawful Dispensation of CDS, DWI, DWI in a School Zone, Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving, Speeding [75/45], Improper U-Turn, Obstruction of View, Improper display of license plate; and Noreen: Possession of Prescription Legend Drugs, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure to Make Lawful Dispensation of CDS.
