Hopewell Valley Celebrates 20 Years of Healthy Communities / Health Youth

by Community Contributor

Twenty years ago, the Hopewell Valley community came together to support a vision for its youth: a community united in the development of caring, confident and responsible youth.  Under the direction of the Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance, the Healthy Communities / Healthy Youth initiative was created to guide this vision.

The initiative’s main work is conducted when the Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance convenes its meetings, drawing from all sectors and stakeholders of the community.  During the meetings, issues affecting Hopewell Valley’s youth are discussed and resources are shared. Community stakeholders collaborating in this process include the business community, clergy, municipal elected officials, school administration and counselors, mental health providers, police, EMT, local libraries, youth serving organizations, parents and volunteers.

On Friday, October 14, the Hopewell Valley community will celebrate 20 years of the Healthy Communities/Healthy Youth initiative at the Hopewell Valley Mayors’ Breakfast being held at Capital Health – Hopewell from 8:30-10 AM.

The annual breakfast, hosted by Hopewell Valley’s mayors, is an opportunity to both recognize individuals or organizations that have made a commitment to support and enhance the lives of young people and to celebrate the Hopewell Valley community’s work toward that end.

During the breakfast, the Municipal Alliance will be honoring Lisa Wolff, Hopewell Valley Regional School District Board President as its Volunteer of the Year.  The program will include special guest speakers.

Anyone interested in attending the Hopewell Valley Mayors’ Breakfast, should contact the Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance at 737-0120 X642.
