Hopewell Valley Central High Students Accepted into State Honor Ensembles

by MercerMe Staff

Hopewell Valley Central High School band and orchestra students auditioned for the Central Jersey Music Educators Association Honor Ensembles, last month.

After a highly competitive audition process, with between 50 and 80 students auditioning per instrument for limited “seats” in each group, four students were accepted into the Honor Ensembles: Christopher Nadar, 11th grade, was accepted into Symphonic Band as a trombone player; India Anderson, 12th grade, was accepted into Wind Ensemble as a tuba player; Daniel Lee, 11th grade, was accepted into the Orchestra as a violinist; and Alex Kim, 11th grade, was accepted into the Orchestra as a cellist. All four students will have the opportunity to audition for the New Jersey All State ensembles in January 2017.

Hopewell Valley students have auditioned and consistently been accepted into the CJMEA Honor Ensembles in past years. The audition process is competitive and the students accepted will gain invaluable experiences learning from and performing with other exceptionally talented students. The honor ensembles are conducted and led by renowned band and orchestra conductors from across the country and the accepted students will benefit greatly from the experience.
