Hopewell Valley “Come Outside and Play!” Celebrates 5 Years

by Mary Galioto

The warmer weather is here!  It’s time to get outside.

Hopewell Valley “Come Outside & Play!” is a 3-day program, from Thursday, June 12 to Saturday, June 14, coordinated through the Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance during which the Hopewell Valley community is invited to a community-wide celebration of the great outdoors.

Local community and environmental organizations have planned outdoor activities which will take place throughout Hopewell Valley including nature hikes, an afternoon on the farm, an old time baseball game, star gazing, pond study and much more.

“Five years ago the community had a discussion about the overwhelming benefits of being outdoors. Some admitted our children have forgotten how to play outside,” said Heidi Kahme, Chairwoman of the Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance.

Hopewell Valley boasts a range of creeks, parks, lakes, bike paths, walking trails, playgrounds and open spaces.  Organizers of Hopewell Valley “Come Outside and Play!” hope people of all ages will learn about these special places in their own backyard during this special program.

For a complete list of activities see below! Also feel free to contact the Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance at 609-737-0120 x 642, Hopewell Township Recreation Department at 609-737-3753 or check the Hopewell Valley Regional School District virtual backpack and local libraries.
