Hopewell Valley Dust Devils Win YMS Epic U10 Championship Bracket

by MercerMe Staff

On Mother’s Day weekend, the Dust Devils progressed with determination through their bracket to ultimately become Champions of the YMS Epic U10.

The weekend began Friday night in a stalemate tie with YMS home team and would force both teams to closely watch the standings for the rest of the tournament to see whose points would allow progression to the championship bracket. With a Saturday win over GCVSA and a Sunday morning win over PA RUSH, The Dust Devils were heading to the championship bracket with one point more than YMS.  The final game ended 4-0 with a win over West Mont- United and the HVSA Dust Devils were tournament Champions.

This marks the 12th tournament win for the Dust Devils since the teams formation as U8 girls.

“It was a great weekend for Dust Devils soccer with tough competition at the first class YMS EPIC Tournament,” said Ben Chrnelich, head coach of the team. “The girls were focused on playing strong soccer. We are proud of these girls, lots of heart, friendship and competitive spirit. Dust Devils Rock!”

The girls are ready to take on more tough competition as they host Hopewell’s Memorial Day Soccer tournament, then head off to Hershey where they will defend their U9, U10 Championship Title.
