Hopewell Valley Remembers September 11 at Ceremony

by MercerMe Staff

At a memorial ceremony on Saturday, Hopewell Valley September 11th and Emergency Services Memorial Committee commemorated 15 years since the attack on September 11th. Held at the newly named Woolsey Park (formally Alliger Park), Hopewell Valley residents gathered to remember those who were lost in the attacks.

“Memorials, such as the one here in Hopewell Valley, remind us of what happened fifteen years ago. They also stand to remind us that we must work every day to be sure that nothing like this ever happens again,” said Michael Chipowsky, chairman of the Hopewell Valley September 11th and Emergency Services Memorial Committee

Members of the Hopewell Valley Emergency Services hold a flag that was presented to the Memorial Committee during the September 11th Memorial Ceremony on Saturday. This flag flew over the World Trade Center site on June 15th of this year. It was presented by Michael Fedorko, the Director of Police for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey
