HT Police will recognize officers’ accomplishments in public ceremony tomorrow

Hopewell Township Police Director Robert Karmazin invites the public to an important ceremony on Friday August 13. He will be recognizing the accomplishments of members of the Hopewell Township Police force.

Lt. James Rosso, Sgt. Joseph Maccaquano, Sgt. Lincoln Karnoff, and Sgt. Robert Sparano will be celebrated for their recent promotions.

Sgt. Louis Vastola, Sgt. Chris Vaccarino, and Ptl. Mike Peterson will receive the Valor Award. The Valor Award is given to officers who exhibit an act of outstanding bravery in the line of duty.

Ptl. Mike Peterson and Ptl. Vinny Amabile will be recognized with a Life Saving Award. The Life Saving Award is given to officers who provide emergency lifesaving medical attention before more advanced medical personnel arrive.

There are two members of the force who have completed advanced education and will be recognized. Ptl. Sandy Ferner graduated from Widener University Delaware Law School with honors and Det. Alexis Mirra received her Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

Other officers will be recognized as well. The ceremony will take place on Friday, August 13, at 4pm, and will take place in front of the Municipal Building. COVID-19 protocols will be followed.
