HV Arts Council Hosting ArtConnect Forum, Kicks Off New Program

The Hopewell Valley Arts Council invites the community to explore and deepen a passion for art at the inaugural ArtConnect Forum, a key component of the HV Arts Council’s newest program, ArtConnect: Creating Opportunities for Artists.

In this collaborative, informative, and fun social setting, be the first to hear about current art news and community art projects, and learn from creative guest speakers and other artists.

Kirsten M. Jensen, Ph.D., Gerry & Marguerite Lenfest Chief Curator at Michener Art Museum in Doylestown, PA will talk about their current exhibit, Magical & Real: Henriette Wyeth and Peter Hurd, A Retrospective which features the notable artwork of Henriette Wyeth, daughter of N.C. Andrew Wyeth and sister of Jamie Wyeth, and the work and career of her husband, Peter Hurd. This remarkable collection includes a variety of artistic techniques including oil, watercolor, and egg tempera. Exhibit on view at the Michener Art Museum through May 6, 2018.

Mike Ellery, Creative Designer, Chief Creative Officer at Sparks in Philadelphia, PA presents The Art of Experience. Ellery has spent the past two decades developing and creating innovative artwork in event design and marketing. Leading a team of over 60 creative designers, Ellery specializes in eye-catching trade show exhibits creating engaging, purposeful, and themed environments for his clients. In this presentation, he’ll share where his inspiration comes from and how his vision comes into fruition.

Elizabeth Sutton, Vocalist, Accomplished Opera Performer, and Professor of Voice at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ presents From Preparation to Performance. Sutton, a critically acclaimed soprano, renown for her remarkable singing and stage presence, has performed in successful debuts with opera companies and festivals throughout the United States and Europe. Sutton will be performing at an upcoming HV Arts Council event on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Hopewell Theater.

Each meeting will feature fascinating speakers with big imaginations sharing their work, inspiration, and their creative process. It is the place to get the latest new in the local art world and learn from distinguished speakers and other artists. Forums will be held three times per year and are open to the public.
