HVC Bank Celebrates National Women in Business Month with Video Series

by Mary Galioto

To celebrate National Women in Business Month, this October, the Hopewell Valley Community Bank (HVC Bank) is releasing 14 videos featuring local woman-owned businesses.

“We wanted to honor these women by giving them an opportunity to tell their stories as entrepreneurs,” said Marianne Romano, assistant treasurer and director of social media at the HVC Bank and producer of the videos. “To me, the entrepreneurial spirit is the American spirit. Our goal with these videos is to honor National Women In Business Month by sharing the entrepreneurial journey of several of our women business clients. The videos highlight who they are, what they do, how they came to do it, their greatest challenges, what they are most proud of and why they chose the HVC Bank.   Our hopes are that viewers will connect with them and want to support their businesses and other small businesses, and that those who may be thinking about taking the entrepreneurial leap will be encouraged to follow their dreams after hearing these stories.

The first video was released on October 1, and featured Chris Murphy, owner of The Front Porch in Pennington, who talked about the benefits, joys and pitfalls of owning her own business.

Other videos the bank will release feature Kim Ward Basco, owner of River Valley Realty; Chris Murphy, owner of the Front Porch in Pennington; Jean Gianacacci, of the non-profit Chistine’s Hope for Kids; Amanda Sharp, owner of Costume Scene; Molly Dykstra, owner of the Green Paper Cup; Debbie Schaeffer of Mrs. G’s; Donna Arold of Main Street Manor; Kim Nagy and Joy Stocke, co-owners of Wild River Publishing; Mary Innocenzi of the Village Learning Center; Sondra Counts of Sondra Skin Care;  Joan Silvesto of Book Trader of Hamilton; Susan Edwards of the non-profit Team Velvet; and Margo Orland of Picky Paws.

Here’s another one perfect for Halloween season (and beyond):

Released every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the entire month of October, the videos will be posted on the HVC Bank’s Facebook page and website, Twitter and Linkedin.
