Join Lawrence Township for America’s Night Out Against Crime

by Mary Galioto

The Lawrence Township Police Department is inviting the public to “National Night Out,” an event that encourages the community to support local anti-crime programs on Tuesday August 4, 2015.

The event aims to strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships while sending a message to criminals letting them know local neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. Each year’s National Night Out campaign involves citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from over 15,000 communities from all 50 states in addition to U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide. This equates to 37 million neighbors all taking part in this stand against crime.

Representatives from the Lawrence Health Department, Mercer County Prosecutors office, Woman space, Lawrence Alcohol and Drug Alliance, Boys and Girls Club of Mercer County, Lawrence Township Emergency Medical Services and Lawrence Township Fire Companies will be on hand with displays and information.

In addition to the information displays, there will be food and beverages along with a kids bounce, face painting and other activities.  Tuesday August 4, 2015, between 6:00 and 8:00 pm, at Lawrence Township Police Department Headquarters, located at 2211 Lawrence Road.
