Lawrence Resident Killed in Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Hopewell Twp, Police Look for Witnesses

At 6:36 PM, the Hopewell Township Police Department along with the Pennington Fire Company and Pennington Rescue Squad were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on County Route 546 at Scotch Rd. Officers arrived on scene and found that a Toyota Tundra and a Kawasaki motorcycle had collided.

The Kawasaki was driven by Orest L. Huraleczko, a 60 year old male from Titus Avenue in Lawrence Township NJ. Mr. Huraleczko was killed in the impact and pronounced dead at the scene.

The Toyota was being driven Rufino Estuardo, a 24 year old male from Ohio Avenue, Ewing NJ. He did not stop at the scene and was located by responding Officers approximately a mile away in a commercial building parking lot with his vehicle. He was not injured and is being interviewed at police headquarters.

The initial investigation shows that Mr. Huraleczko was travelling west on Rt 546 and Mr. Estuardo was travelling south on Scotch Road. It is unknown at this time why the vehicles collided. The investigation continues as does the interviewing of witnesses.

The area was closed to traffic for approximately 2 and ½ hours.

The crash is being investigated by Officer James Rosso and Detective Joseph Maccaquano of the Hopewell Township Police Department and Detective Don Santora of the Mercer County Prosecutors Office.
