What You Need to Know About Coyotes and Foxes: Despite being one of the most successful urban mammals, many people are surprised to see a coyote or fox in their backyard and that surprise often leads to panic.  The good news is that there really is not much to worry about. For more details about these animals go to: www.wildlifehotline.org/coyotesfoxes.html

Yard Waste Collection: The week of June 6 is Zone 1 for yard waste pickup.  Please be considerate and place your items on the curb ONLY if you are in  Zone 1. Material shall be placed in an area on the street not greater than four feet (4′) from the edge of the pavement.  Trees greater than 8-inches caliper may not be disposed of through curbside collection.  Materials shall not be piled greater than three feet (3′) in height.  Once the collection truck has collected your street, they will not return until next month’s collection.

Lawrence Township Eco-Waste Collection Program: Lawrence Township continues to offer an optional recycling program that allows residents the opportunity to compost their organic waste.  Removing organic materials from the waste stream will reduce the amount of trash that is taken to the landfill.  According to the EPA, food scraps and yard waste make up 20 to 30 percent of the waste stream. The Cost is $12.00 per month which will rise to $17.00 per month once grant funding is exhausted.  This price includes a 32-gallon recycle cart.
