Letter to the Editor: Fire District Election This Weekend in Hopewell Township

by Community Contributor

To the Editor:

On Saturday, February 17, 2018, the annual Fire District election will be held. In Hopewell Township, the polls will be open from 2pm until 9pm at the Hopewell Township Municipal Building located at 201 Washington Crossing Pennington Road.
This should be the last year that this election is held in February. Legislation is now in place to move this election to November in 2019 when the fire election becomes a part of the general election.

As in past years, the Hopewell Township Board of Fire Commissioners has worked long and hard to produce a budget that supports the needs of our fire fighters and EMTs while being ever cognizant of the cost to our taxpayers. I think that we have again met this goal.

So please, take a few minutes on January 17th to vote and to show your support for these brave men and women who give so freely of their time and talent to serve us in our time of need.

Yours truly,
Michael A. Chipowsky
Chairman, Hopewell Township Board of Fire Commissioners
