Letter to the Editor: Murray requests support for HVRSD BOE reelection

by Community Contributor

Each Hopewell Township Committee candidate and Hopewell Valley Regional School District Board of Education candidate was invited to submit a final letter to the MercerMe editor.

To the Editor:

Thank you students and residents of Hopewell Valley for taking the time to get to know this year’s candidates for the Board of Education and your vote on Tuesday, November 7th.

I am Alyce Murray, current Vice-President, respectfully requesting your support to re-elect me to a second term in board leadership, along with 2-term experienced Board Member, Adam Sawicki and the fresh perspective of newcomer, Darius Matthews. While entrenched in Elections, Timberwolves soccer and Bulldogs football and soccer seasons, I appreciate MercerMe, The League of Women Voters and the Hopewell Valley Express, to name a few local media sources that provide forums for the accomplishments of our community and interview platforms of the election candidates.

I proudly served Hopewell Township for the past 3 years including Education Program, Policy, Negotiation Team, schools liaison and the Municipal Alliance. My unique knowledge of our students’ and residents’ perspectives in the Valley stems from over 23 years of long-term residency, demonstrated commitment to service and my extensive and varied professional and educational backgrounds. I achieved my degree in pre-medical biology, chemistry minor, business concentration and education graduate studies at TCNJ. My professional experiences include Mobil’s Environmental and Health Sciences Laboratory, a health and wellness exercise professional, corporate fitness and coach at PAC, PEAC. local corporations and my personal training studio. I served on the Pennington Borough Council, including Economic Development, Personnel and Parks & Recreation, prior to moving across the township line. I share pride in our NJDOE High Performing District as a real estate sales agent with Callaway Henderson Sotheby’s International Realty.

I hope to continue to support our district achievements: fiscally responsible budgeting while achieving an A+ Niche rating in academics, arts and athletics, 3-time AP Honor Roll and continued opportunities for all of our students at every level, 100+ clubs and activities, innovative counseling programs, cultural competency initiative, expanding cost and energy saving green initiatives and increasing programs with revenue sources that pay back the district for participation.

With sincere gratitude, I ask that you scroll to the bottom of your ballot to Column H and vote Murray at 4H, Sawicki (2H), and Matthews (1H) this Tuesday.

Alyce Murray, HVRSD BOE VP
