Local Organizations Awarded Grants by Hopewell Harvest Fair

by Mary Galioto

On Wednesday, December 2, 2015, the Hopewell Harvest Fair held its annual grant ceremony to honor the twenty-two local nonprofit organizations which received grants from the 2015 Harvest Fair. Representatives from many of organizations joined members of the Board of Trustees for an evening of thanks, camaraderie, and celebration hosted by Music Together, just outside of Hopewell Borough.

The Hopewell Harvest Fair is a community event that brings together residents of the Hopewell Valley each year but is also a fundraiser for a community grant program that provides support for nonprofit organizations doing important work in the Hopewell Valley. A percentage of all proceeds from the Fair go directly to the program. Since its inception, over $215,000 has been distributed to deserving local groups.

This year, thanks to the generosity of sponsors and fair attendees, the Hopewell Harvest Fair was able to award $4,000 to support operating costs and/or special projects of many local nonprofits, including just to name a few, Middle and High School Robotics Clubs, a variety music and theatre programs, projects for our senior population, and donations to OSIP Foundation and the Sunshine Foundation.

“At the grant ceremony, we are able to hear first-hand how these Harvest Fair grant funds make a difference to the organizations and people those organizations serve,” said 2015 Hopewell Harvest Fair Chairperson Rebecca Coyle. “There is a great amount of good work being done in our community and we are proud to be able to support some of these organizations through our grants.  Our Harvest Fair grant program, which has now distributed over $200,000 in funds in the Fair’s almost thirty years, is a direct result of the community coming out to support the Hopewell Harvest Fair, so we appreciate the continued support of the entire Hopewell Valley!”
